2024-2025 Popcorn Fundraising
Pack Popcorn Goal!!
Popcorn is a way to offset the cost of scouting as well as help Council pay for things like the wonderful camps we enjoy and many other things they provide.
Activities, recharter and pack dues can be covered by popcorn sales.
We have a grouped selling system to help accomplish those goals.
The Pack receives about 33% of the value of the popcorn sold. The final retail totals are based on the percentage the Pack receives.
You can mix and match the groups based on how much your scout sells.
For example, if your scout sells $575 in retail popcorn you can choose to either cover your recharter fees for next year, or to cover your scouts monthly dues and activity costs.
Additional family members that attend will still have to pay the associated cost of the activity.
If you have more than one Scout in the Pack you can choose how to divide up sales. i.e. you sell $1050 in popcorn between your two Scouts, it can pay for the recharter and dues for one scout and recharter for the second.
Ways To Sell
Trails End App
Trails End is the company that provides the popcorn we sell. They have both an Android app and iPhone app. This app is the keystone to selling popcorn. It make it easy to track sales, and will take credit card payments without any credit card fees. It uses Square credit card readers (Square is the brand if you aren’t familiar) and also lets you manually enter the credit card information. The pack has a couple Square readers that will plug into your phones audio jack. For iPhones and the newest Android phones it will require a 3.5mm adapter to plug into the port on the bottom of your phone.
Best of all, as your Scout sells popcorn they will earn points towards rewards (more info below)
To create an account click here.
If it asks for a Pack Code it is QVEDA
It will ask for our Council, which is the Georgia Carolina Council
It will then ask for our District, which is the Kiokee River District
Then enter Pack 417.
Once you have created an account I recommend you update your Scouts online store page. All that is involved is uploading a profile photo so people who receive the link will see your Scouts picture and know for sure they are supporting your Scout, picking your Scouts favorite product and entering an “About Me” which is just a short blurb about why your Scout is selling popcorn etc.
If you have any questions regarding using the app please contact Ryan Meredith and he can help you.
Online
Selling online can be a very easy way to sell, especially if you have a lot of out of state family and friends. They order and pay for the popcorn online, and Trails End ships it to them directly. Nothing to track or deliver.
The Trails End app will let you automatically share your Scouts online store via email, text and several social media platforms. If you choose to use the “Auto Share” feature, it will let you select which contacts from your phone that you want to send an email/text to, as well as how many follow emails they will be sent until they purchase something.
Chocolate product doesn’t ship until November so it doesn’t melt during shipping. If an order includes chocolate product all items will be held and shipped when chocolate product begins shipping.
All orders $65 or more receive free shipping (Extra charges and exclusions apply)
Online products differ from the in person sales.
Door to Door (aka Wagon Sales)
You and your Scout, in class A uniform can go door to door and use either the Trails End app (it will take credit cards) or the take order form.
You can go door to door with product, or you can let them know it will be delivered mid-November. You can “check out” product from the Pack if you want to go door to door with some in hand to deliver. The Pack also has some credit card readers you can borrow. Any Square credit card reader will work.
DO NOT TAKE CHECKS, accept cash or credit only, and we highly advise they pay up front in case they forgot they ordered popcorn when you come back, or they move etc.
Rules/Tips for door to door selling
- Never go inside a house.
- Smile whenever you aren’t talking.
- Speak clearly and steady
- Parents, let your kids do the talking and stand back a little ways.
- Say “thank you” even if they decided not to buy something.
- We can’t solicit donations, but you can accept one instead of a purchase if they offer.
- Use the app to record everything. (if you need help with the app, contact Ryan)
Sample sales pitch:
Hi, my name is _________ with Pack 417. I am earning my own way for my camping trips and adventures, would you like to support my goal and buy some popcorn? My favorite is the _____________. Here are all the flavors available. (Show laminated card).
Store Fronts
One or two Scouts in class A uniforms and their parents’ setup a table in front of a store with some product and sell to people as they come and go. Store front shifts are 2 hours long and have 2 scouts at each shift. Earnings are divided evenly between scouts on that shift automatically regardless of which account records the sale in the Trails End app.
Shifts are managed by the Council and divided up to all the units. We will have our list of shifts on September 1st and I will try and get a signup list by September 2nd. Shifts will be on Fridays between 5pm-9pm, Saturdays between 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm, and Sundays between 1pm-5pm. Each of these 4 hour blocks we get will be broken into 2 hour shifts.

Work or Office
There are take order forms available. These forms have all the pricing and popcorn info so you can leave them in the break room or something so people can see them and fill in their name and what popcorn they would like to purchase. These orders will be filled mid-November, and it is recommended you collect payment up front.
If you would like one to take to your office to place in a break room or something similar let Ryan Meredith know and he will get you one.
All paper order forms must be entered into the Trails-End app by the parent as a wagon sale. If you need instruction on how to do it please contact Ryan Meredith.
Rewards
All sales documented in the Trails End app earn points towards rewards. The rewards are Amazon Gift Card, and the value of the gift card depends on the points earned.
1 point for every $1 in a cash sale/online sale
1.25 points for $1 in a credit card sales in the app
You can use the take order form to document sales easily at your work or office, then transfer them to the Trails End app in order to receive the reward points.
Here is a breakdown of the rewards levels based on points. Please contact Ryan Meredith if you have any questions.
